Our Philosophy

At Gurusthanam we strive to create a happy atmosphere where learning is fun! Children, parents and staff learn together and all develop to their maximum capacity, fostering children’s development in a holistic learning and teaching model that focuses on them as individuals and unique learners in preparation for whichever curriculum they choose to continue on to.

We believe children learn most effectively by using all their senses and through their own first hand experiences. Each child is an individual and has needs that should be met in an atmosphere that celebrates diversity. Children need acceptance and approval in order to develop a positive concept of self, and grow in confidence and self-esteem.

The Child

"We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today."

At Gurusthanam, children are valued as individuals, with praise through positive reinforcement given for individual achievements based on their own unique abilities and skills. They are not compared with their peers, but assessed through birth to five learning and developmental milestones.

Play is encouraged and recognised as a way of promoting personal, social and emotional development. Children feel safe, supported and valued in their learning environment. Self-expression is encouraged in every child through creativity, language, movement and play. Imagination is encouraged and expanded. Through imagination, children consider and express their perception of the world around them.

The Teacher

"While we teach our children all about life, children teach us what life is all about."

Our staff are passionate about working with children and are committed to creative teaching and nurturing the individual needs of pupils whilst providing a safe, loving and secure environment.

Gurusthanam teachers are passionate and dedicated to the success of each individual child. They strive to gain an understanding of the individual abilities and interests of the children in their class. They encourage the children in their care through positivity. Our teachers work as part of a team with other members of staff to provide the best possible care and education for our children.

The Family

""Children have never been very good at listening to their elders, but they have never failed to imitate them."

We take pride in offering an outstanding education not only for your child but also for you as parents, as together we provide a holistic and fun approach to your child’s early years education. Parents and pupils' families are an important part of the Gurusthanam and are welcome to see the children in action in special events throughout the year such as Brithday Celebrations ,Annual day Sports day, etc. Consistency is vital in learning and as such, parents and teachers together play key roles in the development of the child. We have an open-door policy and families are encouraged and welcomed to approach teachers about any problems or issues they may face.

The PlaySchool

"Play schools should be a mirror of a future society, where imagination, fantasy and success are fully evident!"

Our Play schools are equipped with exceptional facilities and equipped with individually and carefully chosen equipment sourced directly from best manufacturers for engaging, educating play. The playschool is a space where children feel safe, encouraged and stimulated, and where new and exciting discoveries can be made each day in different corners of the playschool.
